Walt Disney World just posted its most expensive skip-the-line day ever: Lightning Lane Premier Pass for Monday, Nov 23, 2026 costs $479 per person at Magic Kingdom, before tax and on top of your park ticket. If you're going over Thanksgiving or Christmas, here's what each Lightning Lane option costs right now, when you can buy it, and how to decide whether Premier Pass is worth it for your family or whether Multi Pass plus one or two Single Passes does the job for a fraction of the price. Every number is sourced and dated.
The new Premier Pass record, park by park
Premier Pass gives one Lightning Lane entry to each eligible ride in one park for one day, including the Single Pass headliners, with no return times to book. Prices for Nov 23 appeared in the My Disney Experience app on the morning of Nov 2 (WDWMAGIC ↗, BlogMickey ↗). Per person, per day, before tax:
| Park | Premier Pass, Nov 23 | Old record | Nov 9–22 range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magic Kingdom | $479 | $449 | $399–$449 |
| Hollywood Studios | $369 | $349 | $329–$349 |
| EPCOT | $269 | $249 | $229–$249 |
| Animal Kingdom | $219 | $199 | $159–$199 |
- It may go higher. In early October Disney raised the Premier Pass ceiling by $50 on its busiest days. If that applies evenly, the new caps would be $499 at Magic Kingdom, $399 at Hollywood Studios, $299 at EPCOT and $249 at Animal Kingdom. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas week aren't priced yet (BlogMickey ↗).
- It sells out. Magic Kingdom Premier Pass was already unavailable for Nov 2 through Nov 5 (WDWMAGIC ↗).
- Dates appear about three weeks out, one day at a time, so you can't lock in Premier Pass months ahead the way you book dining (BlogMickey ↗).
The cheaper options the same day
Lightning Lane Multi Pass lets you pre-book a set of rides with return times; Single Pass is a separate per-ride purchase for the biggest headliners. For the same Nov 23 date (WDWMAGIC ↗, BlogMickey ↗):
| Park | Multi Pass, Nov 23 | Rest of Thanksgiving week |
|---|---|---|
| Magic Kingdom | $45 | $39–$42 |
| Hollywood Studios | $39 | $39 through Nov 25 |
| EPCOT | $35 | $28–$32 |
| Animal Kingdom | $29 | $29 through Nov 25 |
At Magic Kingdom on Nov 23, Single Pass is $25 for TRON Lightcycle / Run and $18 for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, matching the Single Pass all-time highs set on Nov 1. Multi Pass plus both Single Passes comes to $88 per person, under a fifth of Premier Pass that day. For a family of four, Premier Pass at Magic Kingdom on Nov 23 would be $1,916 before tax (BlogMickey ↗).
When you can buy each one
- Staying at a Disney Resort hotel (or the Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve or Shades of Green): buy Multi Pass and Single Pass 7 days before check-in at 7:00 AM ET, for up to 14 days of your stay. Everyone else buys 3 days before each park day. Our booking day calculator gives you the exact date and a calendar reminder.
- Premier Pass is bought in the My Disney Experience app once Disney posts a price for your date, about three weeks out. Check early on the morning a date appears if you need Magic Kingdom on a peak day.
- Same-day: Multi Pass and Single Pass can also be bought on the day if they haven't sold out, but the best return times go first. Our Lightning Lane live page shows today's standby waits, next return times and Single Pass prices ride by ride.
Is Premier Pass worth it for your family?
A simple way to decide, using only the prices above:
- Probably worth it if you have one Magic Kingdom day on a peak date (Thanksgiving or Christmas week), little flexibility, and you want to ride most headliners without planning return times around nap schedules. Groups that do the math sometimes compare a private VIP Tour at that point.
- Probably not if you have two or more days in the same park, kids under the height limits for the big coasters (check them on our ride height checker), or you're happy to rope-drop. At $88 for Multi Pass plus TRON and Seven Dwarfs, the savings for a family of four run well over $1,500 at Magic Kingdom on Nov 23.
- Party ticket instead? On Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party nights Magic Kingdom closes to day guests at 6 PM, so a party ticket is a separate evening, not a way around Lightning Lane prices. See our party first-timer guide for the nights that are left.
- Cutting costs? Start with EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. They have the lowest Premier and Multi Pass prices of the four parks, and our live verdicts compare each ride's standby wait with its Lightning Lane before you pay.
Does waiting make Lightning Lane cheaper?
Not in one fan tracker's data. Whistle While You Work has logged every Lightning Lane price daily since Sep 5, 2026 and reports that of 938 park-dates it saw more than once, none changed price after Disney first showed it (Whistle While You Work ↗). Prices differ a lot from date to date, so if your dates are flexible, moving a Magic Kingdom day off Nov 23 saves more than waiting. Our Thanksgiving week guide has the week's park hours and early closures, and our park hours calendar shows every date through Jan 12, 2027.
