Announced words, not guesses
Each card shows the timing exactly as announced, like "2027" or "late spring 2027". If nothing has been announced, it says so. ParkScoop never fills in a date.
Broad windows
"2027" can mean January or December. The trip checker treats it as the whole year, so a 2027 trip shows "might be open" until a real date is announced.
Dates move
New rides often get a soft opening first, and dates sometimes slip. Royal Beach Club Cozumel moved from late 2026 to early 2028. Check the source before you book around an opening.
Where the dates come from
- A year (e.g. "2027"): Jan 1 to Dec 31
- A month (e.g. "February 2027"): the whole month
- Late spring: Apr 15 to Jun 20
- Summer: Jun 1 to Sep 22
- Late 2027: Sep 1 to Dec 31
- Early 2028: Jan 1 to Apr 30
- An exact date: that day
- No timing announced: no dates, ever
Questions
What new rides are coming to Disney World in 2027?
Disney has announced 2027 for Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom (with Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto, Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent and El Carrusel de los Animalitos), the first phase of Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios (a theater show, two restaurants and a shop), the new Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom in late spring 2027 and Disney's Lakeshore Lodge in summer 2027. The Monsters, Inc. coaster, Piston Peak (Cars) and Villains Land don't have dates yet. Every item on this page links to Disney's announcement.
Will a new ride be open on my vacation dates?
Enter your trip dates in the checker at the top of this page. If your trip starts after the end of the announced timing, it says it should be open. If your trip is before it, it says not yet. If your dates fall inside a broad window like "2027" or "summer 2027", it says it might be open, because the exact day hasn't been announced. Openings can still move, so check the source before you book around one.
How does ParkScoop turn "summer 2027" into dates?
Only for the trip checker, and the rules are listed on this page: a year means Jan 1 to Dec 31, late spring means Apr 15 to Jun 20, summer means Jun 1 to Sep 22, late 2027 means Sep 1 to Dec 31 and early 2028 means Jan 1 to Apr 30. The card always shows the exact words of the announcement, and an item with no announced timing is never given a date.
When does the Disney Believe sail?
Disney Cruise Line says the Disney Believe sets sail December 18, 2027 from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, with four- and five-night sailings to the Bahamas and Caribbean. It's the fourth Wish-class ship.
When does Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift open at Universal Orlando?
Universal Orlando says Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift opens at Universal Studios Florida in 2027. No exact date has been announced. Universal also says Fast & Furious – Supercharged will close permanently in 2027.
How do I get told when an opening date is announced?
Tap Watch on the items you care about (saved on this device), or tap Remind me to add the start of the announced window to your calendar. The Friday Scoop, ParkScoop's free Friday email, also covers new opening dates when they're announced.
